One of our new prints is an American Sign Language print and we will be donating 90% of its profits in June to the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind! My niece has been attending The FSDB since she was in elementary school and our family has seen first hand the difference this school makes in its students’ lives. I can’t say enough about how thankful I am for this school and the resources they provide for their students. The care the teachers and staff have for their students makes the school that much more extraordinary.
From their website:
“The Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind (FSDB) was established in 1885 with support of the State of Florida and private contributions.
Based in St. Augustine, we are recognized as one of the top schools for the deaf and blind in the nation and the only one of its kind in Florida.
FSDB is a fully accredited, tuition-free state public school for eligible Pre-K and K-12 students who are deaf/hard of hearing, blind/visually impaired, or deafblind.
The school serves approximately 1,000+ students each year.”
Everyone deserves to be represented, and our artist Jessica Trumble brought this print to life in the perfect way! We hope this print not only bridges the gap in representation but also brings awareness to the gap in communication that those in the deaf and hard of hearing communities experience. I hope this print resonates with you, it is a reminder to myself that I may not be proficient in ASL yet but I am actively doing something to change that. When you purchase this print you are helping provide the opportunity for the students of The FSDB to “Do More, Be More and Achieve More.” You can also donate directly to the Schools website here: https://www.fsdbk12.org/donate
